L.A. Food Mammas
I LOVE this post. Brilliant.
Evan gets top billing in my book for warmth and friendliness. Though I'm sure she's sincere, Mamma Lora's shtick at La Buca traffics a little too heavily in Italian stereotypes for my taste. Yet Jazz gets major points for actual babysitting. Doesn't get more mammaish than that. She held James last summer for the ENTIRE duration of my and Morgan's lunch. The grand tour of the dining room and kitchen that she gave James was way more interesting for him than hanging out with us. Reminds me, I gotta go back to Jitlada soon. But now that he's a walking talking toddler, hanging out in the kitchen's not such a swell idea.
